AboutSobre Fátima
A gymnast turned world champion, now a distance runner. De gimnasta a campeona mundial, hoy corredora de fondo.
Born in 1999, Fátima began competing at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut after nearly a decade in gymnastics. After relocating to Mexico, she graduated from Tec de Monterrey Campus Laguna in Torreón and joined the Ducks Triathlon Club, where she discovered the sport that would define her career.
In September 2018 she won the ITU Triathlon World Championship in Gold Coast (AG 18–19), then defended on the global stage in Lausanne in 2019. She made her pro Ironman 70.3 debut later that year in Los Cabos, then turned to NCAA distance running at Queens University of Charlotte and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned All-America and All-ACC honors.
Today she races for the Central Park Track Club in New York and most recently won the 2026 RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon in a personal best of 1:13:12.
Nacida en 1999, Fátima debutó en atletismo en Staples High School (Westport, Connecticut) tras casi una década de gimnasia. Al mudarse a México, concluyó la preparatoria en el Tec de Monterrey Campus Laguna, en Torreón, y se integró al club Ducks Triatlón, donde encontró la disciplina que marcaría su carrera.
En septiembre de 2018 ganó el Campeonato Mundial ITU de Triatlón en Gold Coast (categoría 18–19) y volvió a coronarse en Lausana 2019. Ese mismo año debutó como profesional en el Ironman 70.3 de Los Cabos y después se incorporó al circuito universitario de la NCAA con Queens University of Charlotte y la University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, donde obtuvo honores All-American y All-ACC.
Hoy compite por el Central Park Track Club en Nueva York. Su resultado más reciente: ganadora del RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon 2026 con mejor marca personal de 1:13:12.

Coming up through the Ducks Triathlon club in Torreón, Fátima qualified for the Mexican national team in late 2017 and travelled to Gold Coast, Australia. There she took the AG 18–19 Olympic-distance world title in 2:16:59, an upset that put Mexican age-group triathlon on the world map.
In Lausanne 2019 she defended on the sprint distance — another world title — and finished third in the Olympic. Two weeks later she ran the fastest run split in her age group at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice (1:26:26 off the bike).

Formada en el club Ducks Triatlón de Torreón, Fátima clasificó a la selección mexicana a finales de 2017 y viajó a Gold Coast, Australia. Ahí se llevó el título mundial de la categoría 18–19 en distancia olímpica con 2:16:59 — un resultado que puso al triatlón mexicano por grupos de edad en el mapa mundial.
En Lausana 2019 defendió su título en sprint y firmó un tercer lugar en olímpica. Dos semanas después corrió el mejor parcial de carrera de su categoría en el Mundial Ironman 70.3 de Niza (1:26:26 tras el ciclismo).

Between 2017 and 2018, racing for the Ducks club out of Torreón, Fátima built a full national season — Veracruz, Cozumel, La Paz, Monterrey, Mazatlán, San Luis Potosí, Acapulco. Two Ironman 70.3 finishes at Monterrey qualified her for the 70.3 World Championship in Nice. The November 2017 SLP qualifier earned her Mexico's spot at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final.
Entre 2017 y 2018, con los colores del Club Ducks de Torreón, Fátima recorrió el circuito nacional — Veracruz, Cozumel, La Paz, Monterrey, Mazatlán, San Luis Potosí, Acapulco. Dos finales del Ironman 70.3 de Monterrey la clasificaron al Mundial 70.3 de Niza. La carrera clasificatoria en SLP en noviembre de 2017 le aseguró su lugar con México en la Gran Final ITU.
